Facilities
Preschool classes are held in the classroom wing off of the family life center building. The director's office is immediately inside the main entrance. Building access is from the parking lot off Evergreen Road. An indoor play area as well as a fenced outdoor playground are available for preschool use.
Calendar
Preschool classes commence the first week after Labor Day and generally follow the calendar of the Hillsboro Elementary School District.
School Day
Children three years of age take part in the Tuesday and Thursday program. Children who are four attend on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Both sessions begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 11:30 am.
Requirements
Children must be of age (3 or 4) by the first day of September of the current calendar year. This policy concurs with that of the Hillsboro Elementary School District.
Children must be "potty-trained" which means they can care for their own restroom needs and that neither diapers of "pull-ups" are worn.
Immunizations
Children must be current on all required immunizations at the time of the beginning of the school year. An approved immunization record from either a doctor or a health clinic should be submitted with each registration application. Guidelines for immunizations are available from the Washington County Health Department.
Registration
Registration is accomplished by submitted a completed form to the preschool office, along with the immunization record.
The 3 year old class is limited to 12 children per session. The 4 year old class is is limited to 16 children.
A registration fee of $65 per student is assessed once at the time of registration. It is non-refundable.
Tuition
Tuition for the three year old children is $990 per year, with nine payments of $110. The rate for four year old children is $1170 per year, with nine payments of $130. All payments are for the month in advance and payable on the first of the month. The first tuition payment is expected the day classes begin. Tuition refunds in cases of withdrawal will be pro-rated.
Staff
The staff is composed of trained and certified teachers who are committed to the loving and caring guidance of all children through Christian faith and values.
Parental Involvement
Parents are asked to serve one day per month as our teacher aide. The teacher aide for the day supplies the snacks for the children. Parent schedules are given consideration in assigning teacher aide dates.
The Program
To support the purpose statement of the preschool, five growth areas will be provided to establish a framework for the daily instructional program. Skill and social development activities are planned to meet the expectations of the kindergarten programs at Forest Hills Lutheran School and the Hillsboro Elementary School District.
